G.R.A.C.E Research Colloquium
January 17-19 2024
The University of Notre Dame Australia
Fremantle Campus, WA
Head, Heart and Hands: Together in Faith
G.R.A.C.E is an international community of practice focussed on Catholic education globally. G.R.A.C.E is a long-term research based partnership project between the University of Notre Dame Australia, Mary Immaculate College Limerick in Ireland, Boston College United States, St Mary’s Twickenham, UK and OIEC in Rome.
The aim of G.R.A.C.E is to bring together researchers and practitioners in Catholic education to become an interdisciplinary community of practice to improve the quality and contribution of Catholic education in their respective countries. A series of biennial gatherings feature within the research based project that require on-going inter-institutional research collaboration, through the community of practice, in the intervening periods. G.R.A.C.E facilitates extended, sustained and critical conversations among scholars from multiple institutions, at various career stages, developing research to advance Catholic education together. The collaboration that exists between gatherings is just as valuable as the gatherings themselves – and this sets G.R.A.C.E apart.
Attending the first gathering we invite participants to join this community of practice. A community of practice is a semi-structured grouping of individuals with shared interests and priorities who value learning with and among others. The research colloquium is designed to form and strengthen the community of practice. It provides ample time for participants to network, engage in scholarly dialogue, share ideas and plan future research with like-minded individuals, with a view to gathering again in 18 months - 2 years time.
